The Bible guarantees a resurrection John 5:28, 29 and Acts 24:15. As for the condition of the dead until that resurrection, the Bible provides comfort throuch Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 Psalm 146:2-4. At John 11:33-35 Jesus groaned within himself and gave way to tears even though he was about to resurrect his friend Lazarus. Jesus hurt for the suffering of the living. He knew Lazarus was in a sleep-like condition, awaiting a resurrection. John 11:11-14, 23-25.
Death was not apart of God's purpose. His purpose was for Adam and Eve to have children , expand the boundaries of the Garden of Eden and turn the whole earth into a paradise. Genesis 1:27-28. As long as man did not sin there would be no death. Romans 5:12. But, when Adam sin he passed imperfection on to all. God sent his Son to undue Adam's sin to return us to that perfect life again so that we can accomplish God's purpose of living forever on a paradise earth(Psalms 37:9-11; Matthew 5:5) with no sickness (Isaiah 33:24), no death (Revelation 21:3, 4;), and no violence or crime (Proverbs 2:21-22). I hope to see you all during that time.
