Save our Mom - Help her fight ColoRectal Cancer

Donation protected

Please help us save our amazing Mom! We need your prayers and FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE to help her get the necessary treatments & medications, and support her living cost during this time.

In April of 2012 our mother, Karen Sugerman, was diagnosed with a rare stage 3 Colon Cancer....she's so young, only 53 years old.

She had not been feeling well for some time but only thought it was stress in her life...thankfully, another incident led her to go see a doctor at which time they discovered an apricot sized tumor in her colon along with possible other infected areas (such as her lymph nodes). Despite the somber news she was amazingly positive and strong - even more so than her 3 daughters.  Her optimism and faith has been humbling.

For those that know our Mom, Karen....they know she is one of the most loving, thoughtful, selfless, generous, sincere and caring human beings you'll ever meet!!

She has dedicated her ENTIRE life to two things...her three daughters...and her biggest passion "the ENVIRONMENT!"...

Now she has to dedicate her time to staying alive...eating properly, getting the medicines and medical treatments that will lessen the pain and dissolve the cancer.

She has selflessly given so much to this planet and society, Now it's time we all give back to her... Please help us raise our goal so we can kick this cancer's ass!

Remember to PASS IT FORWARD! ~ the kindness, the joy, the love!

=================================================

For those that don't know Karen personally, then read this bio my baby sister once wrote about her life for a school project...  It says it all!....

Karen Sugerman, Co-founder and Environmental Consultant for Wellness of World (WellnessOfWorld.com), has dedicated her life to helping the planet she loves for over 25 years. Ms. Sugerman has organized and produced hundreds of events related to helping the environment such as: clean ups, plantings and restoration, preservation, environmental festivals, international activism and consultant work, educational forums and retreats, nature outings, creating and coaching community groups, and much more.

In Two notable events, she was the Co-producer for the 30th Anniversary of Earth Day celebration in Los Angeles and also the coordinator of the largest urban river cleanup in the nation, "La Gran Limpieza" The Great LA River Clean Up. Because of her outstanding achievements of environmental work and peace, she won Gandhi's and Martin Luther King's A Season for Nonviolence Hero Award. She is also the Director of Earth Spirit Agape, the environmental ministry of Agape International Spiritual Center.

At a certain time in her life, Karen realized how much the natural environment was important to her and it saddened her how it was being treated. Polluted air, pesticides in food, loss of wildlife, and the destruction of natural resources compelled her to act. As a young girl, she would create packages filled with petitions and educational information about the environment and wildlife that inspired people to get involved. She would send them to friends and neighbors and encourage them to learn and continue to send the message along to more people. Her involvement always made her feel that she could make a difference. Her experience and expertise grew and so did the impact that she made.

As Karen grew up, her main focus was to educate people about the threats to the environment and how they could participate in saving it. She believes that the root causes of these issues is due to the lack of education among people, a disconnection to the natural environment, a limited perspective on viewing how we all depend on a healthy planet to sustain all life, and how we are all interdependent. One reason for her dedication to being of service to educating and empowering others about caring for nature is because she had concerns for her children and future generations.

Through Karen's tireless efforts, many thousands of people have been educated and informed about the role they play in the environment and what they can do to heal, build, and maintain a more sustainable world. For those who want to get involved, Karen suggests that you: Find one area of concern that you have passion for, educate yourself about the topic, research ways to get involved, and support a local environmental organization.

Karen Sugerman has been an inspirational woman to people worldwide and to me, her daughter, Kylee Loughran. I have enjoyed working with her in the past, helping her with many events she has coordinated and I hope to continue to do so, supporting her and her work for the environment in all the ways that I can.

SUPPLICATION from MICHAEL BERNARD BECKWITH....

"Throughout her many years as a member of the Beloved Community of the Agape International Spiritual Center, Karen has been the very embodiment of selfless service. When I reflect on individuals who have fully embraced and surrendered to their passion and calling, Karen immediately comes to mind. To all those whose lives Karen has touched with her loving kindness, compassion and friendship, now is the time to open our hearts and reciprocate with our prayers, blessings, and financial support. Let us hold her in our hearts with the same spirit of generosity and tenderness as she holds our beautiful planet and all beings."
