Karen Shelton Stroke Recovery Donations

Hi Family and Friends!

My family and I started this donation page to raise money to help my mom Karen Shelton.  She had a stroke April 9th, 2011. She was at Emory hospital and rehabilitation center until May 21 st and then moved to North Dakota as our only real option for her to recieve care without insurance or savings available.
After living in Villa Maria nursing home from June through September she decided she wanted to be closer to Joshua so she moved to Howell Care Center in Michigan at the end of September. Although she was doing OK we did find mom a better home in Milford, MI and she is back on track working on her therapy!
She thankfully is now recieving her SSI income to pay for the nursing home but unfortunately it only gives her $60 a month for her to spend. But we will NOT complain!
Doctors now are looking at her vision and a recent scan she had and surgery may be a possibility. If she would need surgery, we have to pay out of pocket to keep her nursing home room. We are praying we wont have to do that!
