The Kalie Ashby Family Challenge

Kalie had a vibrant personality and always wore a smile on her face.
She was born on December 26th and yesterday would have been her 27th Birthday. Kalie spent her 27th Birthday in heaven because her life ended unexpectedly in a car accident on December 20th, leaving behind her husband of seven years, Matt and son, Sawyer.
Matt and Kalie’s story was one of a fairytale. They were high school sweethearts who fell madly in love and were married just one year after high school in 2007. In 2013, they had a beautiful baby boy, Sawyer who they welcomed into this world with the most loving of arms.
Kalie and Matt were a giving couple; they spent countless hours serving in various ministries of the church including nursery and vacation bible school. Kalie was also that friend who would help out with whatever was needed. Everyone said that Kalie’s smile could light up a room. In fact, many of her friends on Facebook have changed their profile pictures to a candle to honor Kalie’s memory for that very reason. She was definitely a bright light in this world.
This tragic loss has greatly impacted the lives of Matt and Sawyer and the Hostutler/Ashby/Winters/Alexander families. During this extremely difficult and challenging time, they need our support, love, and prayers more than ever. As a family friend, who only had the privilege of knowing Kalie for the past 6 years, I was trying to think of something that I could do to help. I recently know someone who used this site to raise funds for a friend and thought it would be a great avenue to reach those who had and may not have had the privilege of knowing Kalie. She will be remembered for her deep faith, devotion to her family, and for her persistence and dedication to every activity or task. Let us be persistent and dedicated and offer support to this very special family during their time of loss.
