<div>Since 1947, generations of KAs have been entrusted with the responsibility to maintain this beautiful historic structure and provide a safe place to call home for our active members. A lot goes on behind the scenes throughout the year, particularly in the summer months, to make sure all major systems are working dependably. These major systems include the kitchen appliances, 2 hot water heaters, 3 central HVAC units, and the entire roof. KAEF Board members and a small group of volunteers are able to keep up on the day-to-day maintenance items. It is when we have a major system to replace that we need your help.

<div><strong>Over the next 2 years, we will need to replace 2 of the hot water heaters, all 3 of the HVAC systems, and most immediately, the roof.</strong> KAEF does not receive any monies from KA National for these kinds of expenses, so it is up to the loyal KA-BE alumni to pitch in when needed. Many of you did so to help us win our zoning battle with the City of Newark a few years ago.
