<div>On May 26, 2026, my daughter, Jazmine Lawler, suffered catastrophic injuries and was transported to the hospital, where medical personnel worked to resuscitate her. Despite every effort, she never recovered, and I was later forced to say goodbye to my daughter.

<div>Since that day, my life has been consumed by grief, heartbreak, unanswered questions, and responsibilities that no mother should ever have to face.

<div>In the weeks before this happened, my daughter kept reaching out to me. She would call and say:

<div>"Mommyyyy, I need you."

</div>

</div>

<div>She told me she was tired. She felt that people around her were causing her harm, and she was looking for support from her family. As her mother, I was making plans to get to Los Angeles to be with her. I believed I had more time.

<div>I never imagined that our next meeting would be in an ICU room.

</div>

</div>

<div>That reality is something I still have not been able to process.

<div>From the very beginning, I was given an explanation of what happened to my daughter. However, as I began gathering information, reviewing records, speaking with people, and trying to understand the circumstances surrounding her injuries, I found myself left with more questions than answers.

<div>As a mother, I cannot simply walk away from those questions.

<div>Jazmine was not perfect. She faced struggles in her life, like many people do. But she was still my daughter. She was still loved. She was still worthy of compassion, dignity, and a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding her death.

Navigating probate proceedings, family court matters, and obtaining the legal guidance necessary to advocate for my grandchildren has created additional financial burdens during an already devastating time.
