Donation protected
This campaign is for my AMAZING niece JADA who is Just A Dream Away!

After a very long time of waiting Jada was finally accepted into a specialilty childrens hospital in Columbus, Ohio however the insurance company is only willing to provide indemnity coverage at 40% wtih no assistance for travel expenses.  My sister is a single mom whose inspires me everyday with her committment to Jada's health.  Please read Jada's story below and help us support getting her to this special hospital.

My name is Jada King (Liston) and I am 12 years old. I have multiple health issues; to date I have been diagnosed with Asthma, Severe Food Allergies, Severe Environmental Allergies, Eczema, Anemia, Hashimoto’s disease, Colitis, Immune Deficiency called CVID (Hypogammaglobulinemia); and most recently Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis   Throughout my life I have been struggling with balancing my health and living a normal life; and have had little success.  I do monthly IVIG infusion; this is supposed to help my immune system get better. Over all I think it has helped a little but not as much as we wanted it to. I am currently awaiting several tests to decide if I need to be seen at a special clinic for all my tummy troubles I have developed. It seems just as we get one thing under control another issue pops up, this can be from the CVID or it can be unrelated.

When I went to public school because of all my diseases I got bullied numerous times because people didn’t understand. I got threatened, punched and scared out of the school. So I moved on to the next school which was a little better but not much.  I was the taken out of public school by my doctor due to my health. I went into homeschooling which I have been in for two years now, I thought I would like it more than public school but I miss the social interaction and having friends. The hope is that by eighth grade I will be back in public school if we can get my health under control. I now wear a surgical mask anytime I leave the house and because of this a lot of attention is drawn to me and sadly it’s not because of my amazing style!  Once my family, friends and I went to the renaissance fair and me and two friends wanted to go on a bungee trampoline type of thing.  I got in the harness and once I was ready a lady pointed me in the direction of a man who was supposed to hook me up to the bungee cord but once he saw me and the mask he said no and then said “I don’t want to touch her, I don’t want what she has.”  But I shook it off and moved on but later in the day more and more of the employees made fun of my mask and me. By the end of the day I just wanted to leave and go home!

My health has affected my life in numerous ways; the anemia makes it so even though its 101 degree’s I’m still wearing a jacket. The CVID means I’m sick almost every week and I cant go to school with my friends. My joints hurt so it is sometimes painful for me to do “normal” kid things.  I started to lose my hair so we had to cut it very short to cover up the bald spots. I am always tired and we are constantly running from one doctor to another. I have special drinks I have to take because I don’t have many foods I can eat; AND THERY ARE NASTY!! I have to take special medicine to keep me from getting constipated and having to be admitted every few weeks for a clean out. The food allergies are hard to deal with emotionally because we can only go out to eat as a family to one restaurant otherwise I have to bring my own food or just get a drink.  Almost every night I eat a separate meal from my family which sometimes makes me feel left out.  Over all I have adjusted well to all my health issues and I have a great support system and counselor to help me through it all, but there are days when it is just too much!!!

Thank you for your support!!
