Medical & Living Expenses

Many have encouraged me to start this page, so here it goes. MATTHEW: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. My story is not so different from some others, but it is my story. My life plan was to raise an amazing son, earn my PHD in 2014, and go to Hawaii. I can only check 1 box. Thank God for an amazing son! In November of 2012 I had a work-related accident that buried me underneath 600 plus pounds of shelving. Being a single parent, I tried to just keep going. I later resigned because I wasn’t feeling right and took a job with fewer hours. I was putting myself through college, working and raising my son. Thought all was going great! I pressed on. But the pain and other issues grew. On February 11th of 2014, a wonderful doctor at Texas Brain and Spine institute learned about my crushed spine. He scheduled a surgery ASAP to keep me from potentially becoming a quadriplegic. This is an after-surgery picture… Since the accident occurred at my job, I thought I automatically qualified for worker’s compensation. Anyone knowing worker’s comp understands the struggle of getting things approved. Unfortunately because I resigned before my diagnosis, they had no obligation to pay for anything. So now I have ruined credit and a disabled body. I’ve never regained the full use of my right arm, making me extremely clumsy. I also have brain damage (more than I care to admit), memory issues, as well as vertigo. This year, I found out after trying to launch a new business in February, that a scam has been leaching money off my bank account since 2012! And now I have been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis and Fibromyalgia and paying for expensive medications for life. From what I understand, I have always had this disease, and it came out of remission, possibly due to my accident and subsequent surgeries. It is highly possible that I will need many more surgeries such as hip and knee replacements as well as disks in my spine again. I refuse to give up no matter what life throws at me. But this has literally devastated not only my plans, but my financial picture as well. I get so close to being caught up and all it takes is one late fee to set me back again and then it takes months to try to get back caught up again … Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you all so much in advance!
