Julie's Cancer Treatment Fund

Donation protected
As many of you already know, Julie Nosbisch (Hainaut) recently had an appendicitis attack in February and from the CT scan they took to diagnose the appendicitis, they incidentally discovered a large tumor (5.6 cm) on her adrenal gland. She had open surgery on March 6th to remove the tumor, which had grown to 9.6 cm in just a very short amount of time. During the surgery, they found that the tumor had grown into the inferior vena cava and traveled through the blood stream to her liver. The pathology of the tumor came back as Stage 4 Adrenalcortical Carcinoma; which is a very rare disease that they know little about.  Life expectancy of this disease is about 10-20 months. The doctor was able to remove all of the cancer visible (R0 w/ negative margins). She will have follow up PET scans to determine if the cancer is continuing to spread or if she is deemed cancer free at this time. They are researching all avenues to extend her life expectancy and have applied to a clinical study in NY and contacted an oncologist in CO, whom they will see in mid April. There have been success stories for this type of cancer and we are praying Julie is one of them.

Please consider donating to help take some of the burden off Julie Nosbisch (Hainaut) and her family at this already difficult time. They are sure to encounter many bills they were not planning for due to cancer treatments, flights to these facilities, and lodging out-of-state while receiving treatments and consultations. Adrenocortical cancer is a rare cancer (only 1 or 2 people in a million), and there are only a few doctors across the country who actually specialize in it.  They haven't found a cure yet, only ways to maybe slow the progression in some people. This is the reason they are hoping to get into a clinical trial that seems to be helping people and the reason they must travel so far for treatments. Little Vincent needs his mama, Barry and Denise need their little girl, and Brock needs his soul mate.

Anything you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated.  If you can not afford to donate at this time, we ask you please keep Julie and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all so much.
