Help get Julia & Nils home!

Some of you may know that on September 10th, 2018, our beloved Smith family suffered a tremendous shock when Ken (the sweet husband and father) suffered a fall that resulted in bleeding on the right side of his brain. He passed peacefully.
Under the circumstances, Julia and Nils have obviously decided to fly back to the US to be with their family. The flights for this emergency trip were rather expensive, coming in at $1300 per person, hence our fundraising goal of $2600. If you can donate any amount of money to even help get the costs down for Nils and Julia, it would be lifting a significant burden off of them in this already challenging time.
PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS on your social media sites as the family is not wanting the attention at this time and we would like to respect their privacy and their wishes.

If for some reason we go over our goal of $2600, all donations above and beyond that number will will be donated to our matriarch Sharon to assist in additional medical or funeral costs as they arise.
I want to share some personal feelings as I reflect on every time I was able to walk into the Smith house and feel perfectly at home. This family has aided and supported their community in many ways in the 15 years that I have known them. Their door is always open for any individual and their home is filled with love and laughter. May we provide some comfort to them in this incredibly difficult time and give back to a family who has given to all of us tremendously over the years.
