"This is a fantastic opportunity from Nicholas Petit and Scott Janssen, and I can't wait to see where this takes me and Drive for Diabetes Awareness." Lacy. K

Lacy (Cool) Kuehl, a Native of Florida. Driver / Rookie Musher has been racing since 2014. Lacy Kuehl DRIVES to SAVE LIVES Lacy's mission is to share the early warning signs and symptoms of diabetes and DRIVES for Type 1 Diabetic Ketoacidosis survivors and ones that have passed away.

All the training starts in Big Lake, Alaska, with Team Petit for the 2023 Jr Iditarod.
Lacy Kuehl's Rookie JR Iditarod mushing journey will begin in January, arriving with temps below freezing and snow on the ground. It will be a surreal experience and feeling since Lacy endures heat as high as 130f in her race car. Lacy has been trained to deal with humidity and heat, but this time, it's training for the cold, snow, and conditions she will never forget. Lacy is currently in training with a physical fitness instructor. Mellisa at (CRUNCH).

Drive for Diabetes Awareness, President Brent Kuehl spoke with Nic Petit, and it's confirmed Lacy Kuehl may have one or more of (4-time Iditarod Winner) Lance Mackey's dogs pulling Lacy 150 miles through the wild terrain of Alaska. Lance passed away this year, a legend in Mushing and an avid Legend race car driver. Mackey’s legacy lives on #13. RIP Lance Mackey 6/2/1970-9/7/2022

Why Lacy Drives for Diabetes Awareness,
In 2010 my baby brother Rocco lost his life to DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) 2 weeks after his first birthday due to being misdiagnosed with a virus. Diabetes doesn't run in my family, my parents have heard of it, but they had no idea how serious it was.

Losing my brother was devastating to our family, and it is now my mission to ensure that parents and children worldwide know the symptoms and what to look for so that a diagnosis can be made sooner. No parent should have to lose a child from diabetes, and a child shouldn't have to lose a parent from diabetes.
