Meet Joyce Tate, the most kind, sweet and positive woman I know. At 73 years old she does more to serve her community then anyone I've met, and has done so for many years.
Joyce consistently serves in a number of ways. Every week she prepares 40 individual meals on her own for the less fortunate, bakes and cooks for a local soup kitchen, and picks up food and bag donations from grocery stores and delivers them to food banks. She drives others to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands. In addition to these acts of service she assisted with a local carnival for special needs children and for many years she cooked, delivered and served food once a month to parents and children who reside at Ronald McDonald House in Durham.
The list goes on and on and on :)
She doesn't let health challenges or a broken car, stop her from serving others! She borrows cars, calls for rides, and does anything and everything to continue to help those around her.
Donations will go towards a well running, safe car so she can continue to serve. Her car recently blew a head gasket (among other issues) and is just not worth the money that it would take to fix it.
Any gift donations that are left will be given to help pay for her monthly medications and gas.
There is no one that I know of that is more deserving than Joyce. Smiling though teary eyes she says, “I love these people! Serving them is part of who I am, it's my purpose in life!”
She’s been an amazing influence in my life and in the lives of her whole family!
