This time last year I was only 3 days beyond an exam that I almost didn't have the opportunity to take...BUT GOD!!! Grateful that my obstacles wasn't a period in my journey but a comma to continue this journey that God has me on.
Now I am embarking upon another mile marker on this journey to my Doctorate of Medicine....RESIDENCY!!! What is residency? Residency is post graduation where I shall receive the second step of professional guidance and training to become an Internal Medicine-Pediatrician Hematologist/Oncologist. It is through this avenue I will become board certified as a Internal Medicine physician as well as a Pediatrician. Hold up Jertoria, Drika I thought you wanted to be a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist? Yes, I do however I have enjoyed the experience of Internal Medicine so much I would love the opportunity to be able to be board certified in both, so I can be able to not only serve my patients in their childhood but also in adulthood. However, I must first be accepted into a program. In order for me to be accepted I must apply, interview, and Match.
The application fees along with traveling expenses to interview for these various positions are an addition to my monthly expenses of living. Here is the breakdown:

Up to 10 School Applications (1 specialty) $95
11-20 School Applications $10 each
21-30 School Applications $16 each
31 and above School Applications $26 each
Average 1-2 Week in advance Flight from Chicago $350
Hotel Accommodations 2 nights $300
Transportation (Airport,Hotel,Interview) $80
Rule of Thumb: For every 10 applications hope for 1 interview. I'm trusting and believing for 15 interviews. However, I will not be applying to 150 Schools. FAITH!!!

70 Peds
First 10: $95

Interview Fees
15 Flights: 15 x $350= $5,250
15 2 Nights Hotel Accomodations: 15 x $150=$2,250
15 Transport (Airport,Hotel,Interview): 15 x $80= $1,200
Total Interview Fees: $8,700
GRAND TOTAL: $10,585
I am asking my support team, my family, my friends, my associates, my enemies, my doubters and even strangers to please sponsor me in this Residency Journey. Everyone always says to me "IT WILL PAY OFF". Daily it has already paid off, when I see my patients lives being saved from the brink of death. Even when I see these discouraging and near impossible totals of funding, I still say it is worth it, to be able to live my dreams and my calling.
I am asking for $10,000...I know God will make up the difference. I will be applying September 2015. That is 7 months away. If I can raise $1,428.58 a month I can reach this goal. If I can get 50 dedicated donators to donate $30 a month, I can reach this goal.
At the beginning of the year, God selected one word for me to live 2015 by: FAITH
