Shane Parrott Medical Fund

Welcome to the GoFundMe! site for the Shane Parrott Medical Fund. Shane is 10 yrs. old and a 3rd Grader at Elgin Elementary in Elgin, OK who is moderately autistic. Shane has been fully accepted into a Adult Stem Cell program.  Adult Stem Cells are stem cells taken from the Umbilical Cord where there is no harm done to the new born donor. The adult stem cells are screened for certain healing markers and stored for approximately 5 years to ensure that the donor develops normally and healthy.  The adult stem cells are then given to Shane through an IV causing no harm to Shane. Over the next 6-8 months the adult stem cells will seek and heal under developed or damaged areas of the body. Stem Cell Therapy has shown to make marked improvements in children with autism. The areas of the brain that control speech, reading, math, and control behaviors can be healed in various degrees giving Shane the opportunity to learn & grow into an independent, normal quality of life. Shane's mother, Pamela (Brown) Nation, is a single, full time working mom with Shane and Shane's twin brother living in the home. Pamela grew up in the Apache area and the family lives in the Elgin/Apache area.  Shane is the grandson of John & Wanda Brown. Insurance will not cover this procedure and recently the family lost their child support  due to the hospitalization and on going treatment of Shane's father who is a US  veteran.
