Hi my name is Journe Russell. I am 18 year old highschool graduate. Since the sixth grade I wanted to be an obstetrician-gynecologist. I view every human as a piece of hope. To be able to give and install all newborn children a healthy start of life. This then becomes my educational goal, obtaining all the knowledge I need to become a doctor while also experiencing the insightful life of being a part of a college and enjoying everything college offers.
My educational goal of becoming a doctor will also go hand in hand with my life goals of becoming the first person to go to college in my family. Although my family supports my aspirations, this new path requires me to become a leader inorder to show them that my vision is truly possible. As with being a leader in anything, the ones following me may think that where I am today is enough, but I must prove to them that being more than what I am today; a student who will soon be graduating high school and ready to take on the world. Step one to achieving this goal is college, which would then be a pivotal move to everything I will soon represent.

My mom and I have both worked nonstop for the past year to make enough money for me to go to college while also making sure we have everything we needed to have a life. Due to covid-19 and all of the shutdowns, we have not be able to work often to make the money needed for me to achieve my dreams
In order for me to go to my dream college Winston-Salem State University, which is the #3 HBCU college in the nation, I would need the money that will take me there. With everyone help, offering any amount that they could provide, I will be able to raise enough money for this year and the years beyond and I will be able to start my new life as a adult without the worries of student loans.
