Josh's ITU World Championship
Hi all,
Big news!
This past October, I came second in the Overdrive Duathlon in Bowmanville. While second may not be first, I qualified for a spot on Team Canada. Yup, me. Team Canada, eh? I'll be representing the Maple Leaf in Fyn, Denmark at the 2018 ITU Multisport World Championships Standard Distance Duathlon July 6 2018.
Qualifying wasn't the start. I followed a rigorous TrainerRoad training plan. And now that I'm on my way to Worlds, my training has ramped up even more.
Imagine:
10+ hours a week spread across 4 rides, 4 runs (in the snow) and 3 swims and 1 strength session (not in the snow). You can follow my pain by clicking my training log on Strava .
Unfortunately, Team Canada is 100% self-funded. Translation: I must cover all my travel expenses (me + bike), race fees , team fees , training and equipment. Competing as an amature athlete without funding is as challenging as the training.
Any contributions, no matter the size, will go a long way to helping me have a successfull performance at Worlds!
Thanks!
Josh
