Help Josephine reach for the Stars!
Aloha friends and family,
Our daughter Josephine is so blessed to be in MOANALUA public school district with the best music program in our State where she started playing violin since 4th grade at Moanalua Elementary, continued through the middle school, and she is now finishing up her freshmen year at Moanalua High ... Class of 2019… can you imagine it?!
We are very proud of her accomplishments in despite of our shortcomings with dad disabled after he suffered a severe stroke right before Josephine finished elementary school. Although he is unable to actively participate, just caring for him at home gives us courage to continue moving forward. Josephine has since become a pillar of strength. Her sense of responsibility is shaping her character, while her growing competitiveness is pushing for more undertakings. We give thanks to God who has kept us strong through these challenging times and has provided for our family through caring family and friends.
Josephine has always been an independent student with good grades since elementary school in the Gifted and Talented Class. She was a Mustangs Award recipient for academic achievement during Middle School, and already explroring new worlds at high school where she has become class senator, won essay contests, and made it to the varsity air rifle team!
She has often gone back to help younger violinist at her former elementary school orchestra class, and will continue to do so as community service during high school. Her fondest memory with orchestra, thus far, will be the trip to Boston and Orlando she was able to go during 8th grade thanks to generous family and friends who contributed over $5k for this 2015 trip. They had an amazing learning experience with the Boston Symphony and won Gold awards at Disneyworld Festival of Music. A true lifetime memory!
What will be her next adventure? Stay tuned as she hopes that by her senior year, it will be time for Moanalua High to perform at Carnegie Hall again! and she hopes to be there ... God providing!
