Jones Family - Hurricane Harvey

Dear family and friends of Deb, Todd, Tatum and Hunter Jones-
I am a friend of the Jones family, and our kids went to school together at St. Benedict Prep in Chicago.
We are relieved that the Jones’ family made it through Hurricane Harvey safely and know they are counting their blessings despite the loss of their home and their belongings. Friends from Chicago, with Jones’ blessing, are organizing a way to help with their recovery process now that the water is receding in Houston.
It’s been 2 weeks and the magnitude of the damage Harvey created, and what lies ahead, is settling in. The Jones’ are part of a long line of people in Houston who need to replace things that are replaceable and say goodbye to so much that is irreplaceable. Currently, the roads are still flooded, their cars are underwater, and they are on a waitlist for a rental car. The reality of mold forming and the fear of more hurricanes developing puts added pressure on mobilizing the recovery as soon as possible to warrant off further loss. At this time, the Jones' family is still waiting to get back into their flooded townhouse to reclaim any possessions that survived. Right now they are staying with family but hope to find temporary housing before school reopens on Sept 11.
There has been an abundance of concern and offers of support from friends and neighbors in Chicago, along with Deb's family and friends in the Netherlands, and Todd's family and friends in Houston. Many who cannot travel to Houston and lend a helping hand are anxious to do something but aren't quite sure where and how to help. In an attempt to consolidate our efforts, this campaign was created. The funds will be used to help repair water damaged walls and floors, replace furniture , car rental expenses, and temporary living arrangements.
