Our family has been asked the following questions: What do you need from me? What does your mom need? Can I bring meals? What is her address for flowers?
The outpouring of love has been ENORMOUS and we are humbled and extremely grateful that you all love our mother so much!
So here's where we are honest and let you know the situation our mother and our family is facing.
My mother has had a job since she was 14 years old. She makes too much money for government assistance and not enough money to pay the monthly premiums for insurance. (If she's lucky enough to find one that will accept her d/t her previous cancer issues) She is the embodiment of the term "working poor". She raised us four kids, pays her bills, pays her taxes and is a productive member of society. And now...... she needs to private pay for heart surgery.
So here is where we answer your questions about what you can do to help. Then we give it all to God and go on.
Instead of the flowers, gifts and food we are asking that you spend your money here instead. Every little bit helps and this is our honest answer. This is what we need to insure that our mother's surgery is performed and she is well taken care of.
There is no way to anticipate what the final cost of her medical care will be, and honestly I'm not sure our minds can even process it at this point. However, we feel like this will definitely get her going in the right direction.
