Jon's Brain Surgery/Recovery

Donation protected
My brother, Jon Strasburg, has been diagnosed with a large brain tumor – so large that radiation alone can’t cure it.  He has been in a lot of pain, and is required to have brain surgery in order to save his life.  The 6-12 hour surgery will be on July 27, 2017, then he will be in a medically induced coma for a few days.  At that point his medical team will decide whether to have him live at a rehabilitation center for a few months, or if he can be cared for full-time at home.  Per his neurosurgeon, his recovery will take a year.

Unfortunately, the tumor is close to his brain stem, which isn’t good news.  He already knows he’s going to lose hearing in his right ear, but it is unknown to what extent other areas will be affected until after the surgery – the doctor has said it will be like he is having to recover from symptoms similar to having had a stroke.  To the best of the medical team’s knowledge it is benign, which is good news, but he and his family are still facing life-changing circumstances.

Your donations would greatly help them with out-of-pocket medical costs and living expenses.  They are having to move, store much of their furniture, the kids are having to change schools, etc.  It’s a long road to recovery and a very scary time for them.

Please pray for Jon on July 27th!

Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help.

My best,
Bethany Strasburg Wurtz
