Over a year ago, Colin went into Cardiac Arrest while at a football practice. Since this happened the past year has been quite a roller coaster as he and his family had to go through many trying situations to determine the best route of care for him. In addition to him recovering from going through the cardiac arrest he recently had started feeling really tired and worn out, without that great of an appetite and he was having episodes of over heating and sweating.
   As this was very concerning, his family reached out to his cardiologist in regards to it and after a series of phone calls and blood work they were sent to Akron Children's hospital with some "abnormalities" in his blood. Once they got there the doctors came in to inform them that Colin has leukemia. As you can imagine this was quite a shock and a blow to them as they were definitely not expecting to hear that.
   Colin started treatment within days and they have already spent many days in the hospital. He is home at the time, but they have a very long road of them as Colin goes through Chemotherapy and they figure out the ups and downs his body is going through. At this point working is not an option for Nikkie so along with medical bills, daily living expenses are also being affected. The family would greatly appreciate any help that can be given to them. Certainly, lightening the financial burden and strain they will have from this, with the mounting medical bills and Nikkie being unable to work at this point will be one big way to help them through a situation that none of us would want to find ourselves in with a loved one.
