About This Campaign
Hello hello everyone, my name is Nate Taylor and I help students and professionals to harness the power of nonverbal communication to increase their capacity for success as leaders and professionals.
I am seeking to raise the remaining $1,800 to receive my body language training certification in Vanessa Van Edwards’ Body Trainer Program.
About Me
I had the honor of winning best oral presentation at the Connecticut Intercollegiate Business Plan pitch competition:
-I am a fellow for the Patricelli Fellowship for Social Entrepreneurship at Wesleyan University. This fellowship teaches practical skills, builds a community of changemakers, and forges pathways for student entrepreneurs and innovators by exploring problems and opportunities that matter to people inside and outside of academia
-I will be co-teaching the full-credit course "Perception and Influence" at Wesleyan University. Students will analyze important facets of the body and their significance in nonverbal messages. We will develop a system for analyzing body language and apply covered concepts to increase our socio-emotional development and expand our capacity for success.
-I facilitated a Body Language for Entrepreneurs workshop as part of the Fellowship. I taught participants the science behind first impressions and how to leave a powerful and lasting impact on the audience that they pitch their ideas and products to.
-I held Body Language for Leaders workshop at City Year Miami for their central region corps members. City Year works towards bridging the gap in high-poverty communities between the support that students actually need, and what their schools are designed and resourced to provide.
I discussed how to create an unforgettable first impression, convey confidence, increase our charisma and credibility as young leaders. In addition, I will provide tools for participants to continue cultivating their presence after the workshop has ended to compliment their leadership development model.
-I have helped two college students prepare for upcoming job interviews, where I cultivated an awareness of the image they portray to employers and how to harness their unique strengths to convey confidence, charisma, and passion.
Why This Matters
-Nonverbal communication accounts for up to 93% of all communication. 7% is left to our language. Tapping into our nonverbal cues will allow us to express our most authentic selves and connect with others on a much deeper level.
-Our body is the canvas of our mind. It portrays our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and self-esteem. Understanding one's body can help us better understand ourselves.
-First impressions have a dramatic effect on our social outcomes. Weak first impressions lead to weak outcomes. Our nonverbal cues can make or break our social interactions.
-Our nonverbal messages facilitate our ability to build relationships and influence others to create the change we want to see in the world.
