Happy New Year to My Friends and Family!
My name is Joi Candace Denise Pierre and I am currently a junior a Rockford University.
The passion of my life has always been in the Performing Arts, especially singing. I’ve been in theatre for a decade now with being involved with Theatre under the stars, Ensemble Theatre Youth program, Graduate of HSPVA, Broadway Artist Intensive, Junior Theatre Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and many more. I now study musical theatre at Rockford University. There I have had experience in several productions (Company, Doubt, A flea in her ear, and more to come my senior year). At the same time, I collaborated with colleagues to create our own organization called The Movement to celebrate my school Artistry and Artwork by putting on a festival for the City of Rockford that has now been instilled as a school tradition for years to come. Not to brag, but I have been a busy student at Rockford University. I do not take my hard work for granted and I am grateful for all that God has given me to experience.
I am glad to say that all my hard work has paid off. Recently I have been selected out of my entire theatre department to travel abroad in Spring 2018 semester in London, England. Gratefully my school has sponsored part of my travel expenses, but I am still short on other living expenses. I still need to get to my fundraising goal of $2500 to cover the cost. To help defray the cost, I am seeking donations to help me fund additional expenses.
2018 is full of excitement and encouragement and I am excited to embark on an extraordinary Journey. My voyage begins January 11th and I will return at the beginning of June 2018. I will be attending Regents University staying on campus. Also, I am in the city for the Royal Wedding in April. I have been disciplined and strategic with planning my trip but now I am calling on you for your support. For every donation, I will send a heartfelt warming postcard from London with a little piece of my England experience.
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated and allow me to the opportunity to represent our community and country abroad.
