John\'s CCSVI Procedure

Last year, Johnny\'s Angels participated in the RONA MS Bike Tour, to help raise funds for MS research and we received an overwhelmingly positive response, however this year, as opposed to participating in another MS Society fundraiser, we are asking for those who want to help again, to support us in our journey of funding John\'s CCSVI procedure, which is schedule to take place in Clearwater, Florida in the Fall of 2011.
MS has always been one of those mysterious diseases that we did not know much about, but after suffering various debilitating symptoms, John was finally diagnosed with Relapsing MS in June of 2009, and had actually been suffering for several years before without a diagnosis.
John was determined not to let this diagnosis affect him, and continues to remain as active as he possibly can, often over doing it and not allowing his body the rest it needs.
He has become quite the pro at injecting himself with needles 3 times a week, and taking a variety of pills each day. Depsite this, he is always the first one to make someone laugh and console those around him. His brilliant sense of humour and love of life, get him through his painful relapses, and his home care nurses have come to love him, and look forward to their visits with him. His spirit is truly inspirational to us all.
He is thrilled about the life changes this surgery is expected to bestow upon him, and about regaining the feeling in his legs. He hopes to be able to play soccer again, a sport he once adored and excelled in, and for the opportunity to once again not feel imprisoned and limited by the capabilities of his body.
Johnny\'s Angels was once again going to join the MS Bike Tour, but decided instead to focus their fundraising efforts on ensuring that all pennies raised go directly to support the cause. We hope that one day soon, CCSVI will be available to all Canadian MS sufferers.
