Help set a loving dad's spirit free

To Our Dearest Family and Friends,

On the evening of February 9th,  Sandy (one of his three daughters, came home from work, said hi to her dad and asked how his day was. He said, "Your mom and I just signed escrow papers to buy our new house that we will be retiring in!" He looked so happy knowing his dreams were coming true- to finally be able to fully own his own home. At 11:24pm, Sandy woke up to a surreal nightmare: her father helplessly screaming for his wife.

On this horrific night, our father experienced an unexpected cardiac arrest. As a result of this, the doctors diagnosed him with severe an anoxic brain injury, and informed us there was no chance for his brain to recover. He was put on life support, and we all prayed for a miracle outcome.

Over the course of a month of being bedside with our dad, we experienced many ups and downs individually and as a family. Some of us took time off of school and work, all knowing that we would suffer some sort of financial hardship.  We celebrated three important dates in the hospital with our dad: Valentine's Day, Lunar New Year, and his daughter, Sandy's birthday. Through it all, we remained strong and bonded as a family.

Unfortunately, on the night of March 19th, our father took his last breath.

You may have known him as"Father", Johnny, "Uncle", or Luan. He was a hard worker- one that was well-regarded and impactful. He was also an Immigrant and Army Veteran; this instilling strength to fight and persevere. He was the life of every party and welcomed people of all walks of life with open arms. He taught his daughters three most important life lessons: love unconditionally, learn from your mistakes, and forgive others. No matter how you knew him, he touched your life one way or another. In our world, we need more people like our father.

We would like to ask for your support to donate to help set our father's spirit free. This donation will go towards the funeral service, outstanding medical bills, and support the surviving family members.
