John Meissner's Medical Fund

If you know John, then you know where he spends the majority of his time...at the field.  He is not only a volunteer for Azle Youth Association, but he is President of the Tarrant County Youth Football Association.  He has been a coach for over 20 years, coaching his own 3 sons and countless other kids that he thinks of as his own.   He has molded young boys into amazing young men as they leave him and enter into Junior High.  On September 9th, 2014, while in an AYA Board Meeting, John suffered a stroke.  He was taken to the Hospital by ambulance and his family followed.  He spent the next week in the hospital with no movement on his left side and vision loss in his left eye.  He was then moved to an inpatient rehab facility where he underwent several hours a day of rehab for 6 weeks.  Countless time and miles were driven by his wife back and forth while John was there and her kids were at home!  After insurance no longer would pay for rehab, he was sent home.  He is now in an outpatient rehab where he goes a few times a week.  Medical bills are outrageous even with insurance.  He has been on FMLA at work with no pay, but after 12 weeks he will be terminated for not returning.  At which time he will lose his insurance and the family will have to pay for cobra which is expensive in itself.  Medication alone WITH insurance is as much as a normal car payment!  They have applied for SSI, but as we all know that could take a while, so we are asking for any help possible to help this family!  His wife Kim has continued to work full time and her work has been so generous with her time off needed to help with John.  They have made it through the past 2 months, but are in need of some help to get him through until SSI is approved and to help with all the unpaid medical bills!  He remains wheel chair bound, so all the therapy they can get he needs!!! Anything helps and I know the family will be forever appreciative!!!
