John H. Clonts Memorial Fund

My father, John H. Clonts, was born March 28, 1960 and passed away March 4, 2006. He was a true man for others known for giving himself along with his self-made fortunes to those in need. Thanks to our parents, my brothers and I grew up playing just about every team sport one can think of and if my father wasn't the head coach he was part of the coaching staff doing whatever he could to help out. If a family couldn't afford to pay for their child to play on the team or purchase equipment, my father wouldn't hesitate to take from his own pocket in order to fulfill a young athletes dream. Not only did he satisfy those who wanted to participate, he would often spend time with the younger siblings of his players taking them up to the concession stand to purchase whatever they wanted. The night before he passed he showed up to the ball park with bags full of wiffle balls and bats to give to all the younger boys and girls who were there to watch their big brothers play. He is my hero and certainly missed by everyone who got to meet him.
      I am creating this page in hopes that the amazing citizens of Tampa and beyond can help me continue my father's legacy and assist me in funding money to aid the young, less fortunate athletes in the Tampa Bay area who wish to pursue their dreams of being a part of a team and playing their favorite sports. If you were lucky enough to be a part of a little league sports team you understand the impact it has had on your life today. The friends you made became life-long relationships and your coaches became mentors who molded you in to the person you are now. Please join me in continuing my father's bequest and help me turn dreams into realities.
