CLOSED Autistic Twins to Camp 2018

I'm a single mom with autistic 12-year old twins. Chloe is the sweetest girl in the world and loves to sing and to draw and to create. John has a heart of gold and loves to read and learn. He is like a sponge and is always thirsty for knowledge.  However their autism has severely limited their exposure to outdoor experiences and interactions with other kids their age.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that involves problems with social interactions, difficulty with verbal and non-verbal communication, and behavior that is often repetitive and/or restricted.

It is my greatest wish to send John and Chloe to Camp Kennebec, a special needs camp in 2018.  They went for a week last year for the first time and it made such a monumental difference to their personal confidence and developmental abilities. Additionally, they LOVED it! I've never seen my children so happy.  They finally experienced a place where they fit in.  What they were able to accomplish while at camp was life changing.  I would dearly love to give John and Chloe a chance to attend Camp Kennebec this year and to bring about more positive changes in my children and help them discover that their future paths do infact have options.

The benefits of Camp Kennebec are numerous.  It is a summer camp for kids and teenagers with special needs where there is a 2:1 camper to cabin staff ratio.  There are over 50 land water and art activities to chose from including horseback riding, water-skiing, fishing and the arts.

As a single parent, I am appealing to the public for their financial support in helping John and Chloe's return to camp this summer.  The deadline for camp is the end of February 2018. The cost of 2 weeks of camp is $4425 per child.  The cost of 3 weeks is $5755 per child.

My children are my world and it sometimes breaks my heart that I can't do as much as I would like for them. Sending them to camp Kennebec would be life changing for them.  Thank you for considering any small amount towards my campaign.
