John is currently undergoing cancer treatment at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. While he is getting excellent care at the hospital, there is a long road ahead.
As anyone who has had to deal with a serious illness knows, along with the obvious stress created by the illness comes the added stress of financial burden. Although the primary medical expenses will likely be covered by insurance, there are a myriad of other related costs associated with treatment and long hospital stays.
John and Kathy have had to make multiple trips to the hospital, which is a 4+ hour drive from their home in South Carolina. Kathy has had to spend an extended time in hotels in Winston-Salem to be near her husband John and act as the main point of information for family & friends. All of these costs and others add up.
To this point they have been relying on their savings to cover these costs. However, they would like to be able to take a vacation once the treatment is over and John's condition improves.
So many of you have been so helpful already. However, I also know that many of you wish you could be there in person to offer your support. By making a donation here you can help them in a very difficult time by removing some of the burden. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated.
