Surfing the Nations is a non-profit, humanitarian organization based out of Hawaii that uses outreach to reach the broken and build a God-centered community, both locally and internationally.
Surfing The Nations’ Internship program is designed to train and equip young surfers and non-surfers in servant-leader humanitarian work to a variety of cultures, through a variety of outreaches as well as classroom-style teaching. Not only do interns spend two months living in Hawaii but they get to live in intense community housing with radical people from across the world, be trained and challenged by staff who are equipped to lead them in serious character-building adventures! The summer internship specifically has the opportunity to go abroad to Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, the interns will be spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, reaching the needs of the locals through outreach, and growing in their own character and leadership. Collectively, the internship's facets aim to challenge and equip us for future leadership and foster a growing relationship with Christ.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20).
I have been given an incredible opportunity to be the active hands and feet of the Lord. I will be traveling the world to spread the good news of Jesus Christ and in the process leading people to hope, peace, strength, and love. I have spent time in prayer and anticipation for what the Lord has planned to do through me this summer.
