Service Dog for Veteran

My name is Gerald "Joe" Schroeder, a Master Sergeant in the United States Army (soon to be medically retired).  I am trying to raise funds to obtain a Service Dog based on injuries I received during multiple deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom.  I am going through a non-profit organization "Healing Guardians" that provides service dogs to veterans with disabilities.  Though the dog will be given to me free of charge, a fundraiser is needed to help cover the costs of  adoption fees, food, shelter, neutering/spaying, vet bills and vests. 

During my deployments I was actively engaged in small arms fire, rocket, mortar and grenade attacks which resulted in my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI). In addition I have mobility issues due to a back injury which I have had several surgeries for. 

My service dog will assist me with managing my PTSD and MTBI, by keeping space between myself and others around me in public areas, recognizing my mood and behavioral patterns to assist me in managing my stress and anxiety levels, as well as assisting me with mobility.
