The exact diagnosis term is Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This afternoon Joell underwent a bilateral mastectomy ( having both breast removed) she in in recovery as I post this

<div>On April 6, 2024 Joell went in for a routine mammogram and soon after getting the news that some abnormalities were found , After that several procedures were needed such as biopsies, sonograms, among other things in order to determine exactly what was going on. After the fact, the doctors found several more abnormalities and signs of potential cancer as well as the invasive ductual carcinoma. After speaking with her doctors and other health professionals as well as her family, a bilateral mastectomy was the best decision , and best way to give Joell the most peace , as well as the odds being less likely for the cancer to not return in her breast. Any money raised will go forth in covering medical expenses and cost-of-living expenses..as well as recovery for Joell and her family.

<div>Joel is something special to all that know her. She’s worked in the food service industry for over 20 years. she started her job with Mesquite ISD in October 2020 and is currently the café manager at Ruby Shaw Elementary in Mesquite, Texas. Joell has the honor of serving pre-K through fifth graders and refers to them as “her kids.” Selfless is an understatement when it comes to Joell. she is loved by so many and has an amazing support system. Joell is a mother and Wife to two outstanding men, her husband of 23 years Wayne and her son Taylor, not to mention her 5 adorable fur babies! Joell is one of a kind and no doubt one of the most talented women I’ve ever met in my life creative in every way, baking and treats are her specialty and absolutely delicious! Her style is eclectic and she definitely loves her 80s hair bands.. she is an avid reader and loves to help anyone and anyone she can. Oh and she’s a Swiftie!!!

<div>I share this with everyone in hopes to make this recovery, smooth and with the least amount of stress involved as possible for Joell and her family. She will not be able to return to work in August due to her recovery, and recovery ..which at this time is undetermined, but if you know Joell , she’s tough and her return to work as soon as possible is of the most importance to her. Any fund raised will go towards medical cost and where they will be needed. If you are unable to donate, no worries!! I do know Joell would greatly appreciate any prayers that you could offer!
