Prenatal Care In Senegal!

Donation protected
For those of you that don't know me, I'm Joanna and I've been a labor and delivery nurse for about 13 years. I've worked a variety of hours from per diem to full time over the years as I've balanced the needs of a growing and ever changing family.

Over the past two years, I've returned to per diem work to pursue opportunities both within my field as well as in the field of teaching. I've accepted adjunct faculty positions with three local colleges and am teaching nursing students during their clinical rotations, as well as beginning a community health partnership with USM students integrating their nursing skills with community health. The community they will be focusing on is the community I serve during this medical mission!

I decided last year that it was the right time consider medical missions.  I traveled last May to Senegal, Africa to help implement Project 10,000, a prenatal education project created by Partners for World Health.   I was thrilled to have discovered a project that so complimented my abilities.

After an amazing experience last year, I feel compelled to return, this time with an upgraded and improved Project 10,000 that I am working with nursing students to improve. With help from your donations, I'll be traveling with Partners for World Health in May to Senegal,Africa to bring prenatal care, screenings, and education to the communities that will directly benefit from Project 10,000 and more.

I'm incredibly excited to return to Senegal, the communities, and the women impacted by Partners for World Health. Your support reaches far beyond my trip, and impacts generations of quality care.

All medical mission trips are funded by the volunteers that attend. In addition to funding the trip, I will donate two weeks of my time (unpaid), cover the cost of preventive medications, vaccines, uniform needs, required supplies, and several uncovered costs associated with the trip.

For those of you who would like tax documentation for donating to a non-profit, this is possible however, you'll need to reach out to me directly in order to do so at [email redacted]. All checks or cash donated to me directly will be exempt from GoFundMe processing fees. If you are local, please consider a cash/check donation.

All of my donors get a first peak into my adventure by being added to a private Facebook group that I update during the trip. Generous donors receive a gift from me upon my return. Thank you so much for your donations and for joining me on this adventure. ~Joanna
