Help Buy A Home For Me & My Furbabys

Hi. My name is JoEl Rock, and I need your help. After my grandmother’s sudden passing in 2014, I went home to Illinois for her funeral. At this time, I discovered the condition of my grandparents’ home. It was neglected beyond belief. My older brother had done nothing to keep their home up and was neglecting them as well. After witnessing my brother being verbally abusive with my grandfather on the day of the funeral, right then and there, I told my grandfather that I wanted to take over as his caregiver. He did not hesitate to say yes. To properly care for him, I had to move back home. My grandfather needed 24/7 companionship. He couldn't cook for himself, his hearing isn't that great, and he had never taken care of the bills himself. He’s never even been on a computer. 2 months later, I made the move home, leaving all my belongings in storage, bringing home with me only what I could fit in three suitcases. The plan was to take grandpa back to Cali with me. But first, we were going to take a coast to coast road trip as grandpa has never been out of the state since he was 4 years old. After about year, we started looking for small, practically priced RVs to live in until we could relocate. We found one that met the criteria and started making plans to leave. However, we had a huge setback. The people we purchased the RV from took advantage of an 80 year old man and sold us a vehicle that they claimed only needed a tuneup and a brake job. In truth, the entire motor needs to be replaced and the back brakes aren't even connected. It was going to cost us minimum $5,000 just to replace the motor. Illinois’ lemon law only applies to new vehicles so we hit a dead end on being compensated by the seller. That is when I called my youngest brother to see if we could stay with him until the situation could be corrected. He said that he only had one room for one of us, so giving it to grandpa was the obvious choice. We decided that I would live in the RV on the lot next to my brother's house while I saved up to fix it. I became an official tiny house (on wheels) dweller and have been very happy in my tiny home. What I hadn't planned was my own health declining. I spent the entire next winter in bed. My body turned against me, and I was in constant, all-encompassing and debilitating pain. Once winter passed the pain lessened but not enough. I finally decided to find a doctor who, over the course of 8 months, diagnosed me with migraines (specifically status migrainosus or migraines lasting 72 hours or more), fibromyalgia, neuropathy, protruding discs in my lower back, and vertigo. Most recently, my new pain management doctor has found my spine riddled with arthritis, as well as slipped discs in my lower back causing massive pain in my hips. All of this has all but left me completely disabled and has prevented me from working. So I have been unable to save money to fix the RV. I filed for disability a year ago, but this is a lengthy process. I am still working on that. This past November, I lost all power in the RV, and we have determined that field mice are the cause. (I could hear them in the walls chewing away at my tiny home). No electricity meant no heat or air conditioning. Several weeks ago I was forced out of my tiny home on wheels due to the drop in temperature. During the day I spend the days in my grandfather's room with my furbabies. At night, after all activities in the house are ceased, roughly 10:30, I turn the bedroom over for grandpa to go to bed and I go out in the livingroom and sleep in his chair. Now, this week, something I have been stating since the day we got here has been proven. I am highly allergic to something in this house and it could be more than one thing. Of the list that was given to me of possible causes, half of them are in this house. Whatever it is, has caused me to develop asthma. Asthma that hasn't bothered me since I left Illinois 30 years ago. I quit my life, at the cost of a very close friend for doing so, to come back to Illinois, at the detriment of my own health, to care for my elderly grandfather. I have no money. I cannot work. And now, the place I've called home for the past two years is beyond reasonable repair costs and no longer safe to live. Where I'm forced to be now, I'm really no better off as it is affecting my health to be here. I need to replace my tiny home on wheels, something that isn't broken, that is livable now and in good condition. Something that I can plug into the RV hookup next to my brother's house so I can remain close for my grandfather. Something that has both working heater and air conditioning. With winter fully upon us, I could be up to two months before temps steady back up to reasonable living temps. But when summer sets in, I'll be in the same boat. No electricity also means no air conditioning and I can't keep my girls out there without it. It would be no different than keeping them in a closed car. I'm making my goal $40,000 in the hopes of being able to replace it with something that I can keep as my home until I can no longer live alone, but can then pass on to my son and his wife so that they have a way to vacation without stress of hotels. I currently have a Class C RV with a comfortable full size bed but not a separate bedroom and nowhere really comfortable to sit besides my bed. And any Class C RV would be subject to the same drafts and outside critters as they are made completely different than a Class A would be. If I am able to upgrade to a Class A, an early 2000's model, they have a living room area, a dining area, a kitchen with an apartment sized fridge and an actual bedroom. It would also not be vulnerable to outside critters or drafts. In the event that I have found an RV for much less than my goal and have raised enough to purchase it, I will cease the fundraiser. I have a continual search going for Class A RV sales within a 250 mile radius, so I will definitely spend less if I find a well cared for RV at a lower price. I realize I'm asking for a high amount, but this will be my home for the duration. Grandpa is not in poor health so I may need to be near him for many years to come, but I would still like to take him on the trip he was so looking forward to. I do not want to make the same mistake twice and settle on a private buyer selling cheap just to get it out of their driveway. I would like to buy through a retailer which means higher cost but better quality. Here is a breakdown of where the funds will go. (I am looking for RVs within 250 miles of where I live). The cost of one year's worth of insurance while I fight for my disability. The cost of having my current RV towed to a junkyard.
