Jim's Fight to Breathe

Donation protected

My dad Jim is slowly losing his battle with Stage 4 COPD a lung disease that affects approximately 16 million people. Jim is a father of 4 daughters, and spent most of his life making sure that we were all provided for. Jim was a traveling salesmen most of his adult life, working in the oil refinary industry. Jim was diagnosed with COPD a few years ago and was forced to retire due to the disease progressing so rapidly he is at stage 4 the last and final stage. Anyone who knows Jim, could only imagine how tough that was because he loved what he did and enjoyed working. Jim's breathing has begun to rapidly decline, needing more and more medication and doctors visits to just keep his head barely above water. I can not tell you how devistating it is to watch my dad suffer. As his lungs continue to fill up with fluid he is slowly sufficating. Simple tasks we take for granted such as showering, making a cup of coffee, walking to the mailbox, or getting dressed are some of the hardest things for someone in end stage COPD to accomplish. I created this GO FUND me page because we need your help. There is a treatment available but we can not afford the costs alone.

The Lung Institute in Pittsburgh PA offer a stem cell treatment that my dad is a canidate for. While traditional treatment options such as medication and supplemental oxygen aim to only relieve symptoms of the disease, stem cells work by harnessing the body’s natural healing ability to address the progression and to promote healing in lungs. The procedure has no chance of rejection and is minimally invasive. As my dad's COPD progresses there is only one end result with out stem cell treatment. He will die. I along with my other sisters are not ready for such a devistating event. My dad was and is and AMAZING father who deserves to grow old and meet his grandchildren.

What is COPD:  COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. Progressive means the disease gets worse over time. COPD can cause coughing that produces large amounts of a slimy substance called mucus, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms.

The money raised will go towards Jim getting the treatment he needs to help regenerate his lungs so he is able to live, without this treatment there is only one end result. The treatment is URGENT and I ask that is you can not donate please help by sharing this page so that someone else can.
