Jim & Mary Cockroft - House Fire

Donation protected
Jim and Mary have lived in Oldfield, Missouri for over 40 years. They raised their family of 5 kids in a home in the country surrounded by trees. Now both in their 80s they enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, sharing stories and singing together. Music is a heritage they have passed along to these children and grandchildren. Jim and Mary also keep very busy at their church and serving in the local community. They are very much loved!

Jim recently suffered from several minor strokes (TIAs) on January 16th. God touched him and he recovered. On January 22 a chimney fire started in their house. Jim tried to put the fire out alone and suffered burns on his  face. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri with second degree burns on his face and smoke inhalation. He is  in ICU and on a ventilator, in critical condition.

Although the firemen came, the house burned to the ground by the next morning.

Everything they owned, pictures and family heirlooms, clothes and everyday items were all lost. Also their daughter, Bethany, and grandson, Wesley, live with them and are feeling the loss of their home greatly.

Jim is still in the hospital with Mary by his side.
