Our manager's spinal cord injury

Donation protected
No one ever wants to be the one to tell friends bad news. Over the last three years my band was managed by Jim Hudson. Jim is also the father of Madison Hudson who is an amazing singer here in Northern California. Jim was instrumental in booking and managing us and several other bands. He was also a Deputy for the Placer County Sheriff's Office and a veteran of the army where he seved in Desert Storm.

Jim has sustained a spinal cord injury. The injury is at the C-5 part of his spinal cord. This injury is called an "Incomplete Spinal Cord injury" What that means is he did not severe the cord but damaged it. It also means that he did not lose all of his motor skills immediately. Instead he is slowly losing his motor skills a little at a time.

Because this family is so proud, none of us knew what had occurred we just saw him changing. When asked he just said he was not feeling well but it was obvious something was going on. It has got to the point now that we all could see something is happening.

Last week Jim told a few of us what was happening. He explained that he has lost all feeling below the waist. He still has the ability to walk but the nerve pain sometimes gets so severe he has a hard time. He is now losing some movement in hs hands. It is unknown if or when this deteriation will stop. A quick check on this type of injury shows that in most cases it continues until it beomes impossible to move arms or legs when the injury is at the C-5 position.

This is a proud family. Jim has two kids in college and a beautiful loving wife named Billie.

Jim who was working as a deputy has completed all the paperwork for workmans comp but it takes months to see if they will actually pay. His lawyers are working as we speak. He is also moving toward social security but that takes six months to kick in.

This family has  limited income coming in. This proud veteran is doing everything he can but bills and medical charges not covered by his insurance and all the doctor visits are wiping this family out. They are currently in need of our help. For the last few months they have covered all these expenses and kept this a secret as they did not want to concern others.

I am challenging each of my fans, friends and other bands to help if you can. a few dollars goes a long way. if you cant help dollar wise please share this campaign. Lets help this family and take one worry away so they can concentrate on Jims recovery.

Also lets say a prayer for our warrior manager and lift his spirits today.  Send him a positive message.
