I'm Jillynn Stevens and I was elected as a National Delegate for Bernie Sanders at the Utah Democratic Convention so I'm going to Philly!
The trip will cost around $3,500 to $4,000 and I am hoping you will considering being a part of making this journey a reality.
I come from a working class family and am the first female in my family to go to college and later to obtain an advanced degree. My roots are tied firmly in the struggle so many of us experience just to get by.
Now comes the time to fundraise for the trip to include airfare, hotel, and meals. I have a Ph.D. in Social Work with an emphasis in Social Welfare Policy and have spent the largest part of my career working with legislators and appointed officials in Washington, DC , three states and multiple localities in advancing supports for the nation's most vulnerable populations. I believe this experience will play a valuable role in making sure the party platform, rules, and process are fair for all Americans.
I've been volunteering on the Bernie Sanders campaign since last August including canvassing in Nevada and Utah, organizing and participating in phone banking, and founding the Iron County for Bernie Sanders Facebook page. I am also involved in the local Democratic party as a precinct chair and central committee member, hoping to support its evolution from the inside out to enlarge the membership and firm up the progressive ideals the party was founded on.
It would mean so very much to me if you would consider supporting me financially so I can cast my vote for Bernie Sanders in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
