My wife and I have opened our home to people needing temporary shelter in the hardships of life. Many of these people are coming from drug/alcohol rehab facilities and just need a helping hand as they find jobs, housing, and a new way to live. We are not charging these men any money while they stay with us, their only requirement is that they stay clean/sober and attend regular A.A. or N.A. meetings and attend Sunday morning church services while under our roof. We are raising money for bunk beds, mattresses, wardrobe closets, bedding, etc.
We own a modest two bedroom home in which my wife and I occupy one room and we are hoping to furnish the second room to hold four guys. We currently have two men in our home and possibly have a third coming to us soon. Will you consider helping us raise the money we need to offer these guys a decent stay with us while they rebuild their lives?

- MY PERSONAL STORY OF RECOVERY -
My name is Jerry and I am an (recovering) addict. By this worlds standards I lived a pretty normal life for an American citizen I suppose. In my twenties I whooped it up, drank lots of beer, and went to a lot of BBQs, parties and concerts. I chased my dreams throughout these years and into my thirties and all the while working and maintaining life. Throughout these years I smoked weed, used a little cocaine and methamphetamine amongst other drugs. I managed to get married, maintain a job, purchase a home, and start my own business. By the end of my thirties my dreams had run out of gas, my business suffered a major catastrophe and I was spiritually bankrupt though I didn't know it and would have scoffed at the notion of such a concept. I turned to alcohol and drugs to ignore the pain and the problems facing me. On the verge of losing the last two things I had, my wife of nineteen years and my home I committed myself to Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, CA.
Inside the treatment center I was introduced to the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and a new way to live. I discovered in a short period of time that my self-centered worldview and spiritual bankruptcy was the heart of my problem. Since returning home my life has been one of much service and helping others. It is crazy how many hurting people keep getting put in my path. My hope is to be able to share with others the things I've learned and discovered so far in my recovery. I don't believe in coincidences and I know that the things I've experienced can be used to help many, many people on their road to recovery as long as I have the courage to be honest and share my message of hope.
