<div>The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards paying off medical debt, allowing me to try some possible life extending procedures and treatments not covered by my insurance, taking some time off to receive and recover from those procedures and treatments and paying it forward to other Marfans related charities and awareness campaigns.

<div>Ben and I recorded this episode a few months back so here is an update for you. Overall, I’m doing well, there are good days and bad days but I believe that’s just part of the human experience. I’m still going in for biweekly evaluations that include echocardiograms, chest X-rays and bloodwork. I also do a more in depth evaluation every other month that includes MRIs and some other tests, scans and monitoring. Currently, we’ve exhausted all treatments available through my medical plan and they have all unfortunately been ineffective.

<div>I had my last evaluation at the end of December and while there’s still a lot of issues going on within me things were no better, no worse and I choose to look at it as “no news is good news.” Mentally, I’m still hanging in there, I have moments where I get pretty overwhelmed but I have an amazing therapeutic support team that helps me get through those low spots. My focus is still, and will remain, making the most of everyday with my family.
