ETTWomen for Our Jenny + Her Mom

For the past year, Jenny has been an integral part of ETTWomen and the ETTWomen Foundation, volunteering her time and talents to everyone in our organization.

At the end of August while on vacation, Jenny received a heartbreaking call:  her 64 years old mother Divina had just suffered a heart attack and was being rushed into surgery.

Jenny went back home immediately for her care. Divina has diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and suffers severe environmental allergic reactions. When her catheterization was performed, three  stents were inserted. Since August, she has been hospitalized in intensive care on three occasions due to complications related to heart failure, including: pulmonary edema, respiratory difficulties, uncontrolled blood pressure, sugar levels and heart rate, anemia, elevated levels of creatinine, E.Coli bacteria, among others. Last week, she was discharged pending follow-up consultations from various specialists, medication, cardiovascular therapy.

As a result of ICU hospitalization, surgery and medication costs, their insurance coverage for 2017 has been exhausted, until August 2018. Expenses exceed the $20,000 mark.
