Gifts For Mullen Kids & College Fund

Three years ago, Dwight & Jen were diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer within two weeks of each other. He was diagnosed with colon cancer, and she was diagnosed with HER++ breast cancer. Since those horrible two weeks, his cancer metastasized into his spine and brain stem. In April, 2015 Dwight lost his battle.

Her cancer metastasized into her pelvic area, liver, and brain. Despite her poor odds, she beat cancer twice. This past year she underwent her third round of chemo trying to beat this horrible life changing disease.  She was literally fighting to stay alive for her children. Her son, Brandon, is thirteen. Her daughter, Samantha is ten, and her youngest daughter, Laura, is nine. Her whole life was tied to doctors, hospitals, and more often her bed.  Her kids watched their father die, and now they watched an agonizing painfully tragic physical decline of theirs mothers health despite Jen's faith remained hopeful she'd beat the cancer. The worst part is knowing these kids are missing their childhood.

It's with monumental sadness that I bring the news that on the 17th of January, Jennifer lost the battle with cancer. All three kids are now living with me. My name is Aunt Rebecca. My husband Scott and I love all three and we're struggling to wrap up our beloved life in Louisiana with our own children to move to Dallas to help maintain security and consistency for these special precious kids!

Brandon loves baseball. He is on a team. He loves mind-craft, and all sorts of sporting events. He has many friends and excels in school. Samantha likes to go by Sami. She's a beautiful girl who used to struggle in school, but not anymore! She often cooked for her family and wants to write a cookbook. She's my doer. She works as hard as she can around the home for me.  She desperately wants to attend gymnastics. Laura is my energetic enthusiastic little rock star. She loves to sing, dance and theater.  She wants to begin competitive dance lessons and grow up to be a choreographer.

This site was originally set up to support Jen with her medical needs but is continuing to support all the therapy and life challenges these poor kids have ahead of them. The most impossible part of all of this is that the life insurance doesn't pay for all the doctor bills Jen accumulated, and their inheritance will go to pay that debt. Time & funds don't seem to cover the household expenses, nor the birthday events for her kids, or day to day living; not to mention the mortgage on our home here in Plano.

So with the finality of Dwight and Jennifers story here's her final thank you she asked me to post:

"I've lost my battle and I'm now in heaven with my loved ones. As I took my last breaths I thought about how thankful I am that generous people like yourself show loving mercy to my beloved children my husband and I leave behind. Thank you so much for your donation! These days it's so hard to put ends meat together and your hard earned donation is literally the only way we're able to sustain activities and care for the children. My heart aches for them and the magnitude of sorrow that faces them. You have no idea what your generosity has done for me! Its kindness in the way you give it that restores my faith for my children's futures. Thank you for taking time today to care about my family! I pray that God provides you with just as much kindness in the same gentle way! ~ Jennifer, Brandon, Sami and Laura along with Scott and Rebecca who care for my kids. ❤️"
