Medical Fund for Jeff Fletcher

As most of you are aware, Jeff suffered a stroke on July 27th and was hospitalized for several weeks. When he was admitted, the doctors found that he had recently had two heart attacks and he hadn’t even been aware. It was also determined that he has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes - all of which he was unaware of. All of this happened to a man who was never sick other than a cold and who ate healthy and exercised daily.
Jeff had to undergo several surgeries including a cardiac catheter, and a second cardiac catheter where stints were placed and the blockages cleared. He had to have several tests including multiple MRI’s, an echocardiogram of the heart, stress tests, and cat scans.
Jeff now has to take 15 medicines a day and have his blood checked once a week. He also has to wear a LifeVest defibrillator 24/7. As you can imagine, the medical bills and the prescription costs are mounting for Jeff and his wife, Melissa.
To make this situation even worse, Jeff does not have health insurance due to an error during open enrollment last year. There have been several appeals, but to no avail. I work with Jeff and have for the last 12 years and have been involved in the appeals process. He has always been responsible and has always provided coverage for him and his family. And, all of this happened when he needed it the most. My heart literally aches for this family. All of them are hardworking people and this situation is so unfair. BUT…Jeff is lucky to still be with us after all that he has been through! And, for that, we are so thankful!
I created this fundraiser in hopes of helping to relieve some of the tremendous financial strain as he needs to focus on recovering and not the overwhelming amount of monies now owed.
