Visit My Terminally Ill Sister

Donation protected
On March 6, 2013 my older sister and only sibling Jeanne was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  It was the exact one year anniversary that our mother had died from Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  My sister Jeanne is my only sibiling.  She was our mother's caretaker during our mom's battle with cancer.

Jeanne is 44 years old.  She has been a vegan since the age of 15 and never smoked a day in her life, was always the sober driver when going out with friends.   Her boyfriend, Chip and her have been together for over 20 years.   They have no children but have 3 dogs who are like their babies.  Jeanne is an inspirational auntie to my four children.  She alwas has an ear to listen to my daughter, who is in the tweens and lamenting in in her sorrow.

She has been a complete inspiration during her fight with cancer.  Never once has she sat around and felt sorry for herself or complained about how sick she is.  She has had numerous surgeries, including a full hystorectomy.  She has been going through chemo for three years.  When she was diagnosed, her body was complete ravaged with tumors.

Six months ago, she had one tumor the size of a golf ball left in her liver.  We thought the end was in sight.  In March, she was finally ready for cyber surgery.  Her team of doctors, her, and I were all sure that it would kill the last tumor.  She would do the impossible beat Stage 4 cancer.  Instead, cyber surgery had the reverse affect.   She suffered a massive infection and pneumonia. In addition, the cancer has returned to both lungs and caused the tumor in her liver to fuse to her diaphram. This once vibrant healthy woman can barely walk down the hallway.  When I speak to her on the phone, she can not usually talk for more than 10 minutes without becoming tired and winded.    She has been hospitalized twice to have fluid drained from her lungs, and also have blood transfusions.

On May 17, 2016 she recieved news from her doctor, her last round of chemo had not affect.  After three years, there is no other form of chem to be tried.  Her cancer will now continue to spread through her body.

Jeanne lives in Toms River, New Jersey in our childhood home.  We both grew up in Toms River.  We are both graduates of Toms River High School South, Jeanne Class of 1990 and I Class of 1993.

I live in Mandan, North Dakota with my family.  I work a full time (40 hours a week) professional job and another part time job (20 hours a week) to support my family.  I just barely get by.  I have a 14 year old son with severe autism who just needed leg braces.  There just never seems to be the extra money for trips.

I have not seen my sister in four years.  The last time I went home was for our mom's funeral.   I kept thinking there would be more time to see her again and prayed she would beat cancer.   It appears that the hour glass is running out.

Please help me see her again before she joins our parents in the afterlife.  I don't want the next time I see her to be when she is cremated in a box at a memorial service for her life.

She is the only immediate family I have left.  Our father had a massive heart attack and passed away in May 2009.  Our mom passed away from her battle with breast cancer in March 2012.  The money I raise here will only be used for travel expenses, ie.  plane ticket, travel to and from the airports, baggage fees, gas to help drive my sister to medical appointments.  (Bismarck airport where I fly out of from only has two gates and two airlines that fly from there.  Southwest if you are going west and Delta if you are going east.   I will have to use Delta airlines to fly to New Jersey.)
