Jason’s food bank fundraiser

My teacher Mrs. D gave us a few articles about problems here on Earth so that we could create opinion writings in class. One article specifically stood out to me about people turning away produce that had little scratches or marks, but was still perfectly okay to eat. Even more exactly a certain part of the article stood out to me. A man sold produce with those little scratches incredibly cheap, and had no customers. He said I know there is hunger in this world, so why has no one bought anything. That line flipped a switch in me, and ever since I've made websites, power-points, and videos to try and raise money for food banks. All I want is to raise a little money for these charities. All of the money you donate will be given directly to the food bank, so there is no middle man here. I will not be taking the money to the food bank myself. Lastly, I did a little research and found out that if we donate money instead of canned foods, our money not only can buy more food, it can also buy healthier options like fruits and vegetables. Please, spare at least five dollars and keep a man, woman, or child from going hungry tonight.


We are in an insane situation where people are all stuck in their homes. Without leaving the house most people do not have the ability to work because they can not work from home. For many this means spending savings for a rainy day for necessities or cutting down on luxuries. For others however, this could mean not eating today. 50 million Americans don't know where their next meal is coming from. That is roughly a seventh of the country! If you could spare a few dollars it would mean the world to someone less fortunate who is depending on it.
