Howdy kids!

Well it's been a long time since our last update, but as the saying goes, no news is good news.

Corey and I are doing OK. He is still working at Disneyland and I am still doing what I do. Dialysis is going so-so.

My anxiety tends to keep me from going as often as I should, but I am now on mediation that helps me get there more often. I am also volunteering for a local organization that assigns volunteers to children in foster care that are in need of mentors and advocates in court. Between those things, our regular/no-so-regular trips to the hospital and all of my appointments, we keep busy.

And now for the good news... I am switching transplant hospitals from UCI to USC. USC has a really great "live donor program." It includes billing MY insurance for not only my work-up, surgery, and aftercare, but the donors as well wit NO out of pocket! Corey has completed the preliminary blood work and it looks like he may be a match!

Here's the issue; he will have to take a couple of months off work leaving us to live on my small disability check during that time.

He and I will also be in need of bedside care for a few days as well as transportation to and from the hospital at least three times within the first 10 days post transplant.

Although work-up is estimated to take about 3 months, neither core or I can see ourselves imposing on someone during the holiday season. It's hard enough having to ask for help at all.

We will be continuing wit work-up but will e holding off on the surgery until the new year. But during that time, we will be in desperate need of help. Help with finding a caretaker, finding transportation, and most importantly, we will need help financially.

So in the same breath as us sharing this wonderful news, we are asking for help.

So please help us however it is possible for you. We would definitely appreciate help here on GoFundMe but we would also appreciate a ride out to downtown (post surgery). We would love notes, texts, or calls. It's also very important that we make this page seen by as many people as possible We can use all the support we can get.

PS. Please think about donating your own organs. All it takes is a little check mark in a box at the DMV, and all it gives is someone their life.

Our Story
The Jarvis/Bailey family is strong! Unfortunately, sometimes strong is not enough. My wife, Midnight was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure last year for the third time. I work two jobs, but its not enough to make ends meat. We are barely able to make rent and cover the out of pocket medical costs every month. We had to forgo having a car after the timing belt broke. Its hard working two jobs taking the bus everyday, especially when my wife has a medical emergency, which happens quite frequently. Taking buses to Dr's appointments is an all day chore, and leaves my wife exhausted... We need help. Please visit this Picture documentary that a dear friend created as a photo journalism project for school to see an example of our daily lives. Our goal is to purchase a safe car for Midnight to get to and from the Doctor with, and to put away money to help us cover our mounting medical debt.. Thank you for taking the time to consider us. Any help at all is appreciated..
