Breast Cancer Treatment
On October 24th 2017 one of our own was diagnosed with Stage IV Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer). Janet has been employed at Texas Health Harris Hospital of Fort Worth since October 2008 as a Registered Nurse. Since being employed she has moved up the career ladder. Her various roles consist of being a charge nurse on the unit, teaching CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) classes, achieving NCAP IV status and being a mentor to new nurses and her fellow colleagues. Some of her other roles include being a mother of two wonderful children and a wife of 10 years to her husband. Her children are Winston age 7 and Christiana age 5.
Her biggest accomplishments includes graduating from Walden University with a Master’s degree in nursing with an emphasis in the Adult Gerontology track. She obtained certification on October 20, 2017 through the AANP (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners).
Her breast cancer treatment will consist of radiation, chemotherapy and a double mastectomy in January 2018. As Janet continues to work she will need support spiritually and financially. Janet has always been an inspiration and lifts up everyone that is in her presence. She has always been available to help others and now she needs our help. Together we can support her in this endeavor with an expectation of a great outcome.
