Fund Jane's Housing and other needs

Perhaps you have seen her....  Jane is a 70 year-old woman who has been seen walking (dressed in black with a very large suitcase on wheels) up and down Routes 53 and 228 in Norwell and Hingham for the past few months.  She has fallen on hard times and is currently homeless.  She loves Starbucks coffee and enjoys relaxing at both the Hingham and Norwell locations.  The Norwell Police Department reports that she has been seen sleeping on the bench outside of Homegoods.

The weather is going to start getting colder very soon and Jane is in need of immediate shelter.  She is currently staying at The Park View Inn in Norwell.   She has her own room, a bathroom, fridge and microwave.  And her own coffee pot!  Our goal is to raise $1,000 to pay for Jane to stay at the Inn for 30 days while a long-term housing and support plan is developed.  Elder Services of the South Shore has been contacted and will be meeting with Jane this week to determine what services she may be eligible to receive.   Further, she has an appointment at Council on the Aging on Wednesday, 12/16, to arrange transportation to the food pantry, Stop and Shop, and Target and sign her up for Meals on Wheels.  

So many people in our community have expressed concern about Jane's safety and well-being.  Please consider supporting a vulnerable member of our community by making a donation.  Any funds raised over our $1,000 goal will be used to purchase food, clothing, and other necessities.
