Jane Harper End of Life Appeal

Urgent Appeal.

Having batted cancer away for 5 years, in August 2018 at the age of 51, I found out that it has returned again and that it is now terminal. I have been given 12-18 months to live.
Dealing with the enormity of this is hard, but having to put my dearests through this grief is heart-breaking.

I am naturally a very positive person, and I’m doing everything I possibly can to extend that time.

I am so very well cared for by my dear husband Steve, our families and friends do so much for us. Their support is keeping us strong.

I am fulfilling my life long desire to have a little artist studio in the back bedroom. I’ve been collecting bits and pieces of art materials for some time, and in my Snuggery, I am experimenting and making things, posting progress on my Facebook page. I’m determined to make the most of the time I have left, and to make it a happy time.

But this is an aggressive cancer and this Christmas could be my last. I first became ill in summer 2013 and since then I have fought it three times; my last treatment finishing spring 2018.

Since my re-diagnosis in August 2018, I’ve had a brain tumour removed, 5 radiotherapy sessions and have started my permanent chemotherapy treatment.

I also suffer from Fibromyalgia, diagnosed in 2007, a debilitating condition causing pain and fatigue.

I’ve worked in a job I love for 25 years as a sales manager for an Art Publishing company, DeMontfort Fine Art. They are an amazing company who have been hugely supportive and understanding through all my difficult health problems.

Steve is self-employed and his work has suffered as he has had to spend a lot of time over the last 5 years caring for me. Having worked as a decorator for many years, he was just launching a new street food business that we were both very excited about when this bombshell hit.

We have had no income for 6 months, our savings have long been used up and we have credit card debt.

I’m finding it hard, having no spare funds when there are so many things I need to do and I need to do them very soon...

·   To clear our Credit cards and help with our household bills

·   To afford materials to do some jobs and adaptations about the house to make us more prepared and           comfortable for the challenging months ahead.

·   To spend as much time as I can with my friends and family, to create some lovely memories for them.

·   Day trips out, a weekend away, little thank you gifts for all the things they do for me.

Please help us by making a donation if you are able.

Please also help by sharing this appeal as widely as you can.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and thank you dearly from the bottom of my heart for any donations you are able to give us.

Thank you

Jane Harper.
