Jammie Brendmoen (Bertholf)

Update: Jammie's insurance is not accepted at the Mayo clinic in Arizona. They are applying for a medical grant, but may not be able to go due to the high cost of treatment and hospital stay.

Jammie has been sent home again to wait for an appointment. They looked again at going to University of Washington Medical center and were informed it may be a five to six month waiting period.

Jammie has several spinal fluid leaks.  She is waiting to go to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. The doctors recently did an experimental procedure by injecting a blood patch into her spine near the site of the leaks in her neck. Thankfully, there were no complications, but the blood patch was not sucessful in stopping the leaks.

The doctors have done three seperate blood patches along with bed rest, but this hasn't stopped the leaks or the severe pain associated. Jammie is not a candidate for surgery because of the location of the leaks. She is currently residing at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA.

Jammie will not be able to fly due to the pressure caused by this ailment, the increase in cabin pressure would be too much for her to handle. Jammie and her husband Jeff will be driving to The Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where they are hopeful they will better be able to handle her pain. There is no treatment plan.  Any other procedure will be experimental.

They have three little ones Kayla, 2, Emmett, 4, Theo, 6. They are grateful to have family to care for their children while Jammie recieves the care she desperately needs.

Jeff had a hip replacement surgery scheduled in two weeks that will be postponed due to the financial and care requirments necessary for Jammie's condition.

In addition to medical expenses the Brendmoen's still have financial obligations at home. These financial stresses are made worse because both parties are unable to work due to this condition.

Medical issues are not new to the Brendmoen family, Jeff has also had medical issues. In December of 2014 He was admitted to the hospital for over a week due to a chronic condition that requires a hip replacement to help manage his pain.

Your hopes and prayers are appreciated at this time.

Jammie is a dear friend. She is a devoted, energetic, fun wife and mother. I am blessed to have known her since first grade.

When donating it says the donation go to me (Danielle Lee) because I set up the campaign, but all the donations are deposited in Jammie and Jeff's account.
